my fascia

...says hi to your fascia.

I had a whole session of myofacial work done today (my first time!) and then, when I got home, my Mass state license was in the mail. $225 for a piece of flimsy cardboard, not even laminated, but I guess that's just the way it goes.

Marathon Monday? Nah. Massage Monday!

Things you wish you hadn't learnt in A&P includes all about the fascia. My chief armed forces souvenir is the scar left by badly bungled (or badly hurried)surgery. When I finished the fascia unit I realised that try as I might, I'll never have washboard abs now, what with my abdominal fascia worked over with a steak knife and crowbar. Everybody else in health care learns about this: can't we teach the surgeons?

What the hell...I have a great personality, right?

Cool scars are far more sexah than washboard abs, so you might not even need your great personality! ;-)

I've actually heard of surgeons these days recommending patients have myofascial work done when they're recovering to help prevent adhesions and minimize scarring. It's kind of awesome. I mean, for people who can afford it, because I don't think Blue Cross is paying for it.
