for your actual viewing pleasure

I promise, no more disgusting skin condition pics! Instead, three light fixtures I am considering for my dining room. I think I have ruled out the last and am heavily leaning towards the first, but whatcha think?

Yuck to the last and YES!! to the first. I have no comment on the second one. Well, ok, its boring...as is the last one.

I like the second one, but I'm old, so I suppose that counts if you're looking to rule out more geriatric tastes :P

I do really like both #1 and #2. I like #1 because it *is* foo-foo and because the leaf motif echoes the leaf motif in my new drapery panels. I like #2 because it *is* simple and kinda 19th century industrial and I think it would look good with the style of my table.

Foo-foo vs simple. Hmmmmmm.

But then, does your decor not include a certain element of foo-foo?
Follow your heart!

But yeh, #3 kind of reminds me of that tour of Alcatraz I took last year. Put one metal chair under it, and 150 watt bulbs...

You guys have noticed my love of the foo-foo, huh? hahaha I recently came to the sad realization that I would probably buy anything if you hung some dangly crystal beads off it. Also, anything distressed gold/bronze, fake fur or velvet or leather, or, of course, leopard print. :-)

The dining room set, however, was my mom's and she liked things much more country/Shaker/farmhouse than me. Hence #2. And, in my defense, #3, which *in the catalog*, in the context of a room, were not ugly. Really.

Maybe I'll go ahead and order #1. The price is surprisingly affordable, considering how freaking expensive fixtures are. And pretty soon it'll be time to stop buying shit until the winter heating season is again over.
