...what the best part of watching a baseball game is. Some people like to see home runs or diving catches. Others prefer perfectly placed bunts or smart and gutty base running. My dad is fond of the double play.
Me, I like to see a pitcher strike a guy or two out right when it counts. By which I mean to say, Mr Okajima, I will gladly have your little Japanese babies.
Okay, not really. But good job!

Those were indeed two beauties. Swisher's muff of Petey's pop fly was fun, too. Then there was watching Joe "the twitch" Girardi take both Swisher and Rodriguez out of the game for a couple of stranded pinch runners... Derek's O-fer... Mikey Lowell's first-pitch bomb... But, yeah, Okey Dokey's two K's to end the 8th were finestkind.
I'll honestly watch good pitching over good hitting any day. Remember those couple years when Pedro was basically unhittable? I used to put those games on and just watch in bliss as he struck out batter after batter after batter. It was...sublime. A thing of beauty. A work of art.
I say this as a pitcher more impressed with non-K guys like Greg Maddux who got the same job done on less pitches. Pedro circa 1999 must have been as good as Bob Gibson or even Sandy Koufax ever was. That was a special unbelievable two or three years. There was one game against the Yanks he had to be the most dominant I've ever seen a pitcher. (though I never saw much of Gibson and Koufax, them being N.L.)

Roger! Glad you stopped by! :-) :-)
All I have to say baseball-wise tonight is: Nick-y Green! No E-6 for you, my man, no E-6 for you.
